Website Pricing

Value or Price?

"There is usually no such thing as quickly and cheaply.  There's only 'good and expensive,' 'quick and lousy,' and 'cheap and lousy.'  Pick one."

--Guy Kawasaki, former Apple Fellow at Apple Computer, and author of 9 books.

At CMEwebsites, we know that many websites can't be found in search engines, that they are poorly designed, badly written, hard to use, and give a negative impression to the business they represent.

Because something can be done cheaply doesn't mean it is always in your best interest.  Your business wouldn't have a cheap sign or rent space in a low rent district; why tolerate an embarrassing or ineffective website?

Tired of Cheap, Instant Websites?

It's been said that instant coffee is a punishment for those too impatient and too hesitant to spring for real coffee.  Real coffee must be brewed.  The best is hard to get and is often grown in small quantities and prepared by experts.

Websites are like coffee.

If you're tired of cheap, instant websites and ready for something more, call CMEwebsites today!

New: Before you read our explanation of web pricing, we recommend the article "How Much Does a Website Cost?" by Carol Lynn Rivera, written for Web Search Social, the Marketing Magazine for Smart Businesses.  (We couldn't have said it better ourselves.)

How Much Does a Website Cost?

Per-page pricing for professional websites is nonsense.   It's easy to see why.

Thank you for making the Herwin web site a success. The web site certainly reflects your creative abilities. The guidance you provided during the development and implementation of the web site is greatly appreciated.

-- Harry E. Smith
Herwin, Inc.

One website may require extensive competitor research to find the best way of outshining the competition.  Another may focus on Search Engine Optimization to attract a niche market online.  A third may need many pages, but require no investment in professional content development.  For a fourth, graphic design may be everything...

You get the idea.  Most websites are some tailored mix of these elements and more.  At CMEwebsites, we work with you to customize a response to your website needs.  Often, our "preliminary quote" provides a range of costs or a selection of options.  We can even reverse engineer a response from a given budget.

But we  know you still want a Pricing Guideline, so we've developed one for you.  Just remember, your real investment will be a carefully considered, tailor-made response, not an off-the-shelf web.

Serious Website Development, Made Easy

CME offers serious website development, made easy.  Our projects generally start around $1,000 for a small, informational website.  Current average projects range between $2,000 and $3,000.  We have completed projects of $10K and more.

Download our Pricing Guidelines PDF to see how your project might fit in.

How long is it going to take?  In general, 60 to 90 days for small to medium projects and 90 to 120 days for larger projects, depending on our workload.

Our goal is to build long-term relationships and aid in the online success of our client family.  People in a hurry to "get rich quick" online are not our customers.

I just wanted to thank you again for my web site.  I am constantly being told from clients (5 times in the last few hours) how  great my web site is.  It has made my business busier than I  like -  but that is a good thing!

Website Maintenance.  We know that a major concern of website customers is having timely changes made to their websites.  At CMEwebsites, we are obsessive about customer service, and completing changes for our existing customers always take priority over new projects.  Learn more on our Web Maintenance page.

Our charges are $45 to $65 per hour for maintenance, depending on the complexity of the project and priority of changes.  There is no minimum charge, and we invoice only after an hour of requested changes have been completed.

Portfolio. Our portfolio shows a range of the different sites we've completed from large to small, from industrial to retail. We've designed web sites for festivals, machine shops, public speakers, manufacturers, attorneys, and more.  Visit our Portfolio, then Contact CMEwebsites to discuss your website needs.
