The Keystone-Conemaugh Projects Office provides an oversight function for eight large corporations that jointly own two large electric generating stations (Keystone Station and Conemaugh Station). We turned to Computers Made Easy for an Extranet solution because the amount of information to be communicated to our various corporate Owners became impossible to provide via phone and/or email. Additionally, we had concerns about the security and integrity of the data being transmitted.

From the start, Computers Made Easy stressed the importance of a good conceptual model upon which to base the website. In this they excelled. We needed to structure our site access in such a way that all Owners could access the data pertinent to their station ownership. This presented a challenge in that only seven of the Owners have an ownership interest in both stations, (one corporate Owner has an interest in only one station). Also, access to individualized financial data was limited to each corporate Owner.

We were quite pleased with the efficiency and attention to detail exhibited by Computers Made Easy not only during the planning stage, but in the development and implementation stages as well. The end result was a website that exceeded our expectations, was completed on schedule, and on budget. Better still, we have satisfied users that have been well served, based on the amount of positive feedback received regarding the Extranet.

Our site has been in use for nearly two years. Available on the site are nearly 10,000 documents in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PDF file formats. We have 62 active users and average approximately 520 MB per month in traffic.

Computers Made Easy has also proven to be an excellent resource as changes and refinements to the website have become necessary. Without their extraordinary commitment and expertise, this project would not have become the success it is!
