Holzer Health Systems

Holzer Health Systems is a regional health care provider in southeastern Ohio.  The health system consists of two hospital facilities (Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis and Holzer Medical Center in Jackson), home care, senior care, two assisted living facilities, Holzer Center for Cancer Care, and a Holzer Cardiovascular Institute.

This is a redesign of their original website.  The old website was created specifically for Holzer Medical Center and was not structured to allow for growth.  As the Holzer Health Systems continued to add facilities, the old site became a hodgepodge of disorganized information and buttons.

The major goal of the site was to create a site that could grow as the health system grows.  A main navigation bar across the top contains the main sections of the site.  The left hand navigation varies for each section of the site.

Another goal was to increase the amount of information available on the website.  Most of the locations and services in the health system had no web presence.  To gather the necessary information, we developed questionnaires for each department.  We wrote the content based on the information provided.

Holzer employees also needed the ability to update certain parts of the site.  Employment opportunities, the calendar, and the news page are database driven so that Holzer can keep the information current with no web experience.  The image below shows the Job Editor form.  Completing this form is all that's needed to add or remove jobs from the job postings page.
